DALLAS, Mar 01, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Associa is pleased to announce it has appointed Juan Fontanes as its senior vice president and chief information officer where he will oversee all information technology, software development and advanced technology group operations.

"His experience and leadership will grow our IT infrastructure that supports and touches every facet of Associa's already industry-leading technology platform."
Fontanes joins Associa after a six-year tenure with PepsiCo, where he most recently served as information technology officer (ITO) global data and vice president application development of Frito-Lay Systems. His experience also includes vice president and information technology officer (ITO) of global data and director of enterprise logistics systems.
At Dell Computer Corporation in Austin, Texas, Fontanes served as director of global supply chain systems and worldwide operations IT. Previous to his time at Dell, he was vice president of customer engagement programs, solutions operations and product planning at i2 Technologies.
Fontanes has additional experience as global spinoff coordinator of mergers and acquisitions from the Campbell Soup Company and as division supply chain manager of granola snacks with the Quaker Oats Company.
Fontanes earned a bachelor of science in chemistry from Purdue University, Indiana. Additionally, he completed professional development courses in supply chain management from Coopers and Lybrand; database administration from Oracle Corporation; food and drug administration from Ohio State University; and systems management from Hewlett Packard. He also earned the designation of certified quality engineer from the American Society of Quality Control.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son.
